Stet and Chouffe is a dialogue between two disguised figures inspired by a painting of James Ensor's, and my favorite film of WC Fields, Never Give a Sucker An Even Break. Like Fields, I'm using the set-up to desecrate every law I can discover governing the correct making of narrative motion pictures. I also hope to satirize the unbearable disposition of power between film-maker and the producer to whom they must make their pitch.
